Ceremony: St. Ignatius Chapel @ Seattle University

July 30, 2022 12pm-1pm PT

901 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

The Chapel was designed by Steven Holl. It’s beautiful and famous enough to have a replica in MOMA. We chose to get married here because Ian is an alum of Seattle University and had spent a lot of time in the chapel while reflecting and praying about his own path within the Catholic Church. This time of reflecting also helped fuel his (one of many) passion of studying philosophy— specifically Kierkegaard. With Ana, Ian found the person that makes him the version of himself he dreamed of back when he was praying in the Chapel on his own.

The Chapel architecture feels as though it connects the infinite with the finite, timeless nature with temporal humans, and reminds us of the awe inspiring power of the Pacific Northwest within the loving embrace of our family and friends. It’s a elegant balance between our pragmatic world views and the dreams we keep pursuing.
